First Look: James Franco as Allen Ginsberg

Left: Peter Orlovsky and his lover Allen Ginsberg, 1957. Right: Aaron Tveit and James Franco, as Orlovsky and Ginsberg, in the upcoming flick Howl.  Franco, odd as this may sound, seems pretty perfect as a young Ginsberg.  Even if he is much better looking.

The movie, filming now and directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, follows the obscenity trial of Ginsberg’s most famous poem.

One can only hope that if a biopic is made of your life that you were deserving enough to have better looking people pretend to be you.  Otherwise, what’s the point?
