New Trailer: The Express
Does anyone else think Jim Brown is sitting in a dark corner somewhere wondering when the hell he’s going to get his own biopic made? Still, as a proud Syracuse alum it’s nice to see someone make a movie about Ernie Davis, who became the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy.
I believe it was also Davis who began the “44″ tradition at the ‘Cuse. Though he was one of the most successful running backs in college football history, Davis developed leukemia in 1962 and never played a down of professional football.
He was responsible for the only Heisman Trophy and national championship for The Cuse. And based on how the football team has played over the past five years, there is no doubt that that trend will continue for a while.
