This has been speculated for quite some time, but now it is indeed confirmed that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film adaptation will comprise two movies.  The first part is scheduled for November 2010 and part two will hit in May 2011.

“It was born out of purely creative reasons,” producer David Heyman told the Times. “Unlike every other book, you cannot remove elements of this book.”

I suppose, just so long as movie part one doesn’t turn into Harry and Hermione’s National Lampoon’s Haunting Camping Trip.
