Which state will lay claim to Springfield?
Although Newt Gingrich has admitted he’s a lying hypocrite, having an extramarital affair during the President Clinton impeachment hearing, and lots of people are complaining that America got it wrong during last night’s American Idol we are holding our breath for the answer to one of the greatest mysteries of the past 20 years.
What is that mystery you might ask? Well, of course it’s the location of the Simpson’s hometown of Springfield. What state is it in?!? There are 16 different Springfields in America, from Massachusetts to Oregon. All of them are competing for a chance to host the premiere of The Simpsons: The Movie this July. Can’t wait to see who ends up winning the rights to claim the mythical Springfield as their own.
Here’s to hoping Springfield, MA gets the nod. Hey, don’t laugh even though it’s sort of rundown, it does have the Basketball Hall of Fame. That should be enough, right? Right? Aw, c’mon.
