The Final Whisper in “Lost in Translation”

Wow. I feel as those /Film has stumbled upon the Zapruder film of movies. Someone took the time to digitally enhance the audio for the final scene in Sophia Coppola’s much overrated Lost In Translation. When the movie came out a few years ago, the one thing everyone kept talking about was what exactly did Bill Murray whisper to Scarlett Johansson as they parted ways?

The conjecture and topic of discussion was great because everyone had their own interpretation and it was one of the things that made the movie so buzzed about. Well wonder no longer my friends. Coppola always gave interviews that nothing was scripted and that only the actors truly know what was said. That’s in keeping with what I’ve heard that her shooting script was only like 60 pages long and mostly just odd notes and whatnot.

YouTube user Vid22 took the time to figure this all out and now four years later we sorta, kinda know what happened. I sorta wish I didn’t because it’s pretty pedestrian. Could we possibly get a sequel?

– A new trailer for Roland Emmerich’s 10,000 BC has appeared over at CHUD.? Can’t say I’m feeling this one much, but Camille Belle seems out of place in this prehistoric movie.

– Here’s an inside look at the second season of Showtime’s The Tudors. ?

– Adam Sandler has a new movie coming next summer, You Don’t Mess With Zohan.? This time he plays an Israeli assassin who wants to be a hairdresser.? The script was written by Sandler, Judd Apatow and Robert Smigel.? With those kind of comedy chops one would figure the trailer wouldn’t be so annoying or um, not funny.

– Not even comedy god Will Arnett can save the rebooted, back-door pilot/tv movie, remake updatey thing of Knight Rider.? The car looks pathetic and not remotely cool and the cast consists of mostly soap actors and actresses.? Still, with Arnett voicing KITT, maybe it might possibly be worth watching?

– The Golden Globe noms were released early this morning.? The big winners were Atonement and Charlie Wilson’s War.? For the full list of nominations in both movies and television go here.

– And finally, the boys from Jackass will be back with Jackass 2.5, but this one won’t be seeing theater release as it will be available online only.
