Gosling gets Lovely

Actor Ryan Gosling (The Notebook, Half Nelson, Stay) has joined director Peter Jackson’s adaptation of Alice Sebold’s The Lovely Bones.

The story revolves around a dead girl observing her family from Heaven. Rachel Weisz has already signed on to play the dead girl’s mother, and now Gosling will be portraying the girl’s father.

Gosling earned an Oscar nomination for his role as Daniel Dunn in Half Nelson. It was a performance worthy of a winning the big slice of bologna. If you’ve never seen Half Nelson or his breakthrough performance as a Jewish skinhead in The Believer you should go out and get your hands on both flicks. It’ll make for a depressing night, but dang, those were two fantastic performances.
