Crowe and Scott saddle up again

Makes you wonder if the budding professional relationship between Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott is more than just professional. The director and actor have decided to team up yet again in the flick Body of Lies. The flick was penned by hot-shit screenwriter William Monahan (The Departed, The Kingdom).

Leo DiCaprio has already signed onto the flick as a CIA agent stationed in Jordan. Crowe will play his boss. The flick is an adaptation of Washington Post columnist David Ignatius’s novel.

The novel centers on an idealistic CIA agent (DiCaprio), newly stationed in Jordan, who develops an intricate scheme to sow seeds of suspicion among the terrorists he is hunting. However, the plan puts his life in turmoil and threatens his relationship with the head of Jordanian intelligence.

The marks the first movie Crowe and DiCaprio will be in together since Sam Raimi’s 1995 western The Quick and The Dead.? That flick, however, was best known as a starring vehicle for Sharon Stone.

As for Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe, they’ve known made Gladiator and A Good Year, they have American Gangster in the can (which also stars Denzel Washington), they’re doing preproduction of the Robin Hood reimagining Nottingham, and now they’ve got Body of Lies. ?
