Jim Koch, founder of The Boston Beer Company which brews Sam Adams beers, says the secret to drinking hard all night without getting too sloshed is eating a packet of dry yeast.
Active dry yeast contains an enzyme called alcohol dehydrogenases (ADH), which is able to break alcohol down into its molecular parts of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. This is the same metabolic process that happens when your liver breaks down alcohol after reaching your bloodstream. Start this process in your stomach with active dry yeast and you can keep packing on the empty calories without the intended benefits of loose morals or questionable judgement. But also, no hangovers? [thanks, Jon!]
