Sweet Julia Child O’Mine

by James Furbush on August 3, 2012

Julia Child, the woman credited with singlehandedly teaching America how to cook, would have turned 100 years old on August 15 this year. To celebrate, WGBH in Boston compiled a series of her funniest quips and set them to Guns N’Roses “Sweet Child O’Mine.”

It’s an admirable effort from a public channel, like PBS or NPR, that’s not particularly known for its Internet-friendly viral content. As a tribute to Julia Childs it’s kind of perfectly fun and goofy like her TV personality. As a potential viral video, there’s something that feels off about it, like it’s not going to make it. Oh well, kudos to them for the effort. [via NPR]
