The Dual-Chamber Slurpee

7-Eleven unveiled a dual-chamber Slurpee cup that will be available this summer, which will allow the consumption of two Slurpee flavors simultaneously. It’s not quite the same as being able to mix all the Slush Puppy flavors into a “Skittles” concoction, but it’s something.

But, wait. That’s not all. The new cup will also come with “a valve-controlled straw to let you find your perfect flavor mix on the fly.” Wow, just wow. Still no cure for cancer, but this my friends is progress. [via iheartchaos]

This idea was abducted by 7 & I Holdings – the parent of 7-Eleven. A guy in Kansas City has been working on the concept for the past two years and filed a provisional patent for it on June 13, 2009. He introduced it to 7 & I under the trademark name of ‘Choozee-Straw’ and uploaded an animated video for them at a website of the same name. Big corporation about to screw a little guy out of the fruits of his labor… Spread the word!!! Entrepreneurs fuel innovation and corporations hope they won’t have the $$ to defend their patents. Stand up for the innovators!!
