Anthony Bourdain on Basic Kitchen Techniques

On this week’s No Reservations, Anthony Bourdain decided to stay home and instead brought together some of his famous culinary friends (Thomas Keller, Jacques Pepin, Dave Pasternak and Laurent Tourondel, natch) to teach some basic culinary techniques, including: saucing pasta, de-boning a chicken (offered as a non-embed-able video preview), cooking lobster, making hamburgers and slicing an onion.

I guess the real question is why doesn’t Bourdain have his own cooking show, built around his ethos, “I happen to believe you should learn to feed yourself and maybe a few others.”

The Travel Channel also has a nice slideshow on the techniques and a great blog post on the episode. [via]
