Human Flesh as Pantone Colors

Humanae is a wonderful and ongoing project by artist and photographer Angelica Dass that pairs human skin tone to its corresponding PANTONE color. How does she do it? She discovers the PANTONE value from an 11 x 11 pixel of the model’s face and creates a background in that exact shade. More of the project can be found on her Tumblr.

This should be required viewing in every elementary school art class where little kids equate “flesh” with “white.” [via laughingsquid]
