Garrett McNamara surfed down the face of a 90 ft. wave in Praia do Norte (off the coast of Nazaré, Portugal). The efforts of his giant brass balls took the title of “Largest Wave Surfed” from Mike Parsons, who held the record since 2008 when he surfed a 77 ft. wave.
Take a moment and marvel at this accomplishment. It’s pretty incredible, as is being able to capture footage of him riding this wave from the nose of his board.
Bonus: Been meaning to post those bullet-time surfing videos courtesy of surf gear company Rip Curl and Time-Slice Films. Those videos are just phenomenal whether you care about surfing or not. [via HighDefinite]
