Here’s Richard Feynman monologuing about the ways science allows one to appreciate the beauty of the natural world over a bunch of video footage taken from NASA, Microcosmos, and BBC nature docs like Planet Earth.
Someone recently asked me what I believe in, religiously speaking. It’s a great question because I don’t really believe in anything, at least in the traditional Judeo-Christian sense of God. But everyone needs something to believe in, or a system for making sense of the universe and world around them. This video, and the other two by Feynman (Part two is Honours and part three is Curiosity), come pretty close to my big picture thinking about human existence and the majestic beauty of the universe.
