Re-purposing Motorcycle Parts as Products

Design Boom has a gallery where “young industrial designers developed a collection of home good prototypes” from used Triumph motorcycles parts.  The exhibition is sponsored by the Birmingham institute of art and design.  Of all the various designs, the one that spoke to me greatest was Richard Underhill’s turntable created from “a cylinder-head as the disc platter and a motorcycle brake part in the needle arm.”  Many of the products are quite inventive.
