Fulton Innovation has figured out a way to make sugary cereal more appealing to little kids, by turning them into a Times Square billboard. The “intelligent cereal box” uses metallic-ink-based circuitry to animate the packaging, but the technology also has broader implications such as allowing various products to communicate with your smart phone (“a frying pan could alert you when your food is simmering” or “you could use your phone to check how much milk you have left in your refrigerator” and possibly a “self-heating can of soup”).
And as cool as this maybe — it’s not — all I can think about now is how I haven’t had a bowl of Lucky Charms in, like, five years. Fo’shame. [via make]
