Alexander Graham Bell’s First Sketch of the Telephone

The Atlantic has a nifty slideshow featuring the best images from Alexander Graham Bell’s lab notebooks, which have been loving preserved by the Library of Congress. ?In much the same way that DaVinci’s sketchbooks are still fascinating, from an historical futurism standpoint, so too are Bell’s, which feature many of his inventions and interesting ideas.

The photo above is believed to be his first sketch of his telephone system, which was intended as an improvement over the then current telegraph system. [via flavorwire]
