The door knob, from a design and functional standpoint, is something that hasn’t been given consideration probably since it was created. It’s been perfected from a form and function pov. But that hasn’t stopped Hideyuki Nakayama from reconsidering it. He’s created “A Room in the Glass Globe,” which emits a sort of hazy blue glow to see at night, but also shows you what’s in the room behind the doorknob.
It’s currently on display at the Plain People store in Aoyama, Tokyo. And though I probably wouldn’t want a doorknob that reveals its secrets, I think having a doorknob that doubles as a nightlight is pretty rad. [via gizmodo]
