The conditions must have been outstanding for today’s Boston Marathon, as the winner, Robert Cheruiyot set a new course record in a blazing 2:05:52. The 21-year-old Robert Kiprono Cheruiyot destroyed the previously held record by, get this, the unrelated Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot.
Both Robert Cheruiyots are from Kenya. Shocking, I know.
What is actually shocking, however, is three Americans led by Ryan Hall and Meb Keflezighi finished in the top 10.
Also Bostonians, but the rest of the year is all down hill from here. This is always regarded as the best day of the year for my former hometown.
