“Wilderness is harder and harder to find these days on this beautiful planet, and we’re abusing our planet to the point of almost no return,” Betty White told TV Guide, after being made an honorary Forest Ranger on Tueday. “In my heart I’ve been a forest ranger all my life, but now I’m official.”
Surprisingly, this isn’t from The Onion. White had always wanted to be a Forest Ranger growing up, but women weren’t allowed into the service, so instead, she went on to become America’s favorite grandmother. For her part, she got to wear a hat and meet Smokey the Bear.
