Detroit’s Beautiful, Horrible Decline

These photos are stunning, haunting and ultimately depressing.  What’s happened to the city?  It should be also noted that the bias of the photographers is such that none of the city’s positive features were highlighted. 

Above: The United Artists Theater, a spectacular Spanish Gothic theater, built in 1928, it was closed in the 1970s and has yet to be renovated or reopened.
