My Blueberry Nights contest
We’ve got a nice little giveaway package to one lucky reader courtesy of Filter Magazine. Director Wong Kar Wai may have created a trifle of a little road film with My Blueberry Nights, which starred singer Norah Jones, Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Rachel Weisz and David Straithairn.
But the movie’s soundtrack just burns with a sort of Southern Gothic energy. It’s like listening to a Flannery O’Connor or Shirly Jackson short story. It’s all honey-dripped soul, R&B, folk and jazz.
We’re giving away a copy of the soundtrack, featuring an original song by Norah Jones, a few Cat Power tracks, Otis Redding, Amos Lee, Ry Cooder and Mavis Staples all show up as well. Also included will be a copy of the movie’s one sheet. Trust me, when I say you’ll want a copy of the soundtrack if you don’t have it already.
So how do you win? Well, just leave a comment and I’ll select one arbitrary winner. Deadline is Monday 5 p.m. PST. I’ll let the winner know and we’ll arrange shipping deets at that point. So c’mon take three seconds for a chance at a free CD and movie poster.

Love Norah Jones as a singer; can’t wait for the move. Winning the CD would be great! What a fantastic contest.

Hi, between games and spending time with the kids, I catch up on news at The Sly Oyster. I couldn’t resist writing in because I am a huge Jones fan. I ran into her once backstage after a show in Las Vegas and confirmed we both love Willie Nelson. She is really hot. Small too. She’s about 5’1’’. Who knew someone so small could have such a big, voluptuous voice!? I can’t get enough of the song “Thinking About You”, which is on the album Not Too Late. Nonetheless, I would love to win the contest for My Blueberry Nights. I suppose I could buy the CD myself, but I have no free time. Plus my wife spends all my money. The team and I have some business to take care of in Dallas. I’m going to throw on some Nora Jones tonight and tuck myself in and focus on the objectives ahead. I’m “thinking about you” Nora. I’m like a little baby in your arms.

This does look like a great movie, I noticed it recently on one of my boredom sites: Apple Movie Trailers. I would high recommend using this site when bored and looking for movies, has a tendency to suck up time like no other. I have found quite a good number of movies that I otherwise would not have found out about.

Norah Jones is so hot. I love when she plays that same one song she wrote over and over. Oh, sorry that was a whole album of songs, my bad. Regardless, as a loyal reader I feel I deserve some free stuff, gimmie.
