By now, many of you have been squared away, entranced in the latest Harry Potter book. But we thought we’d take a moment just to let you know of the craziness that went down in Harvard Square last Friday night. It was a zoo, absolute mayhem, with Potter fans jammed into the Cambridge area, standing shoulder to shoulder just to wait six hours in line at one of the myriad bookstores.

Sounds like it was the jam. Just want to thank Varmazis for the photos. They give a great indication just what it was like to be there.

Waiting in line around midnight for the book. And this is the big intersection at Harvard Square below. You’d think the smaht kids were protesting or something, but alas, it was just Harry Potter fans with nothing to do but stand outside.

And now you can go back to reading “The Deathly Hallows” as it’s about 1,000 times more interesting than this bit of news.
