RIP: Tom Clancy

Author Tom Clancy has passed away at the age of 66, according to the New York Times. Clancy penned the popular Jack Ryan series, including The Hunt for Red OctoberPatriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger, among many others.

To be honest, my familiarity with Clancy’s work is mostly through the film adaptations of his work. Still, he’s one of the mass-market literary titans of the past 30 years — along with Stephen King, Dan Brown, and John Grisham.
