The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore

I wrote about The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore back when I was still with HyperVocal. At the time, I called the book/iPad app “the future of publishing” because I truly believe it’s where books are heading.

“Inspired, in equal measures, by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore is a story of people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favor,” is how Moonbot Studios describes their creation.

Between the time I originally wrote about the book and now, Morris Lessmore became one of five films nominated for an Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film category. The short, seen above, was co-directed by William Joyce and Brandon Oldenburg. [via DailyWhat]
